Ellen's Guild

You are invited to join the Guild -- For Our Children -- For Our Future

As a member of Ellen's Guild  you are part of a dedicated group of volunteers working together on social and fundraising activities to benefit children at risk of being abused or neglected.

In 1978, Family Stress Center Guild was founded by Betty Broll, an ardent supporter of children's services.  In 1996, the Guild officially adopted the name Ellen's Guild  as a tribute to the late Ellen Toby Fisher, who enthusiastically resurrected the Guild.

The Guild meets monthly (except July & August) and counts among its activities:

• Holiday parties for the children of FSC programs

• Special events with proceeds benefiting Family Stress Center

• Community outreach fairs and speaking engagements

• Donations of food, clothing, gift certificates, and toys for low-income families in stressful situations.

The Family Stress Center, a community based nonprofit organization has been serving Contra Costa County since 1978.  The center offers a broad spectrum of services to strengthen families and to treat and prevent child abuse.  Services include family, individual and child counseling, parent education classes, in-home counseling and resource linkage, Proud Fathers and Kinship support groups.
